Privacy Protection:
Protecting your clients’ privacy and safeguarding their personal information is of utmost importance to us. In order to fulfill this commitment, we have developed a series of policies and practices that govern the protection and use of their information. We utilize state-of-the-art technologies and maintain current security standards and physical, electronic or procedural safeguards to ensure that your clients’ personal and financial information is protected against unauthorized access or disclosure and inappropriate alteration or misuse. All data is stored and communicated using state of the art encryption (128-bit SSL). This standard is one of the strongest encryption methods available. Our employees are also guided by a set of Privacy principles and are required as a condition of employment to respect and maintain the security of your clients’ information. The core tenant of our policies and practices is that your clients’ control how their information is used and who has access to it. Without their consent, no one has access to their personal information.
Advisor Exchange User IDs and Passwords:
Passwords and User IDs are kept private. User IDs can be searched by our Customer Service Representatives, but no one at Advisor Exchange or CashEdge can access your clients’ passwords. Therefore, if a client forgets their Advisor Exchange password, a new one must be created. We have no way of deciphering what the forgotten password was.
Financial Institution Account Numbers and Account Passwords:
Financial institution Account Numbers and Account Passwords are kept private in a secure encrypted format and are not unscrambled during updating. This occurs in much the same way as when you use your bank's client card in another financial institution's bank machine. Your passwords are encrypted end-to-end and no one gets access to them. When you or your client inputs Account Numbers and Account Passwords into our system, it is as if they were placed in a secured lock box. The key to this lock box is a piece of data that only you or your client knows. Therefore, if you or your client forgets that piece of data, the Account Numbers and Account Passwords must be reentered. No employee of Advisor Exchange or CashEdge can retrieve this account information.
In addition, your clients’ have the option to restrict your access to any or all of their accounts. The options are:
Full Access – Allows you to see the account balance, positions, transactions.
Summary Access – Allows you to see the account balance and positions only.
None – Only the client has access to view the account.
Your clients’ establish these settings from the client user interface, and you cannot override these settings.
